US Offers $10 Million for Leads on Chinese Hacker Guan Tianfeng

The United States has announced a $10 million reward for information leading to the capture of Chinese hacker Guan Tianfeng, who is wanted for conspiracy to commit computer fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Guan Tianfeng, a Chinese national, is believed to be residing in Sichuan Province, China. The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on him. The hacker is accused of affecting tens of thousands of network security devices globally, including 23,000 devices in the US and 36 critical infrastructure devices. Guan Tianfeng is associated with Sichuan Silence Information Technology Co. Ltd. The US government is seeking assistance from the public to apprehend the hacker and bring him to justice. The reward is part of the US Department of State's Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program, which offers rewards for information leading to the disruption or dismantling of transnational organized crime organizations.
